Baseball Game Preview: Tullahoma Wildcats vs. Marshall County Tigers

Tullahoma is a perfect 10-0 against Marshall County since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Tullahoma's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Marshall County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tullahoma is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Wabash just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Apaches by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 18th.

Nate Wilkerson and Addian Evans did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilkerson went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Evans went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Wilkerson has become a key player for Tullahoma: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. James (Price) Harden also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Marshall County didn't have quite enough to beat Franklin County two weeks ago and fell 4-2. The Tigers have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Marshall County's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Tullahoma, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Tullahoma was able to grind out a solid win over Marshall County when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
