The St. Mary's Knights will face off against the Cactus Shadows Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Mary's is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Cactus Shadows is facing St. Mary's at the wrong time: St. Mary's suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 9-5 to the Wildcats.

Luis Mejia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Cactus Shadows made easy work of Marcos de Niza on Thursday and carried off a 17-2 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Jeremy Larson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Henry Verhamme and Keyen Marquez did most of the damage at the plate: Verhamme scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Marquez went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Carter Brown, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Cactus Shadows and bumps their season record up to 19-2-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for St. Mary's, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 13-7.

St. Mary's took their win against Cactus Shadows in their previous matchup back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
