Softball Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Newton-Conover lost against East Burke back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Newton-Conover Red Devils lost 15-1 to the East Burke Cavaliers. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Newton-Conover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenzie Patton, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Newton-Conover and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for East Burke, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton-Conover will take on West Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Burke, they will face off against Foard at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Foard has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
