Volleyball Recap: Grayslake North's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Grayslake North had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Round Lake Panthers by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 2-0 win back in April.

Grayslake North easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18.

Logan Smith paced Grayslake North's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Esteban Oviedo and his six assists. Smith also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Josh Hercog, racking up two apiece.

Grayslake North's victory bumped their record up to 7-19. As for Round Lake, their defeat was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-26.

Coincidentally, Grayslake North and Round Lake will both be playing North Chicago the next time they take the court. The Knights will host the Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
