Basketball Recap: Pearl City's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Pearl City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Ridge Wildcats. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 70-58.

It was another big night for Damon Dittmar, who went 5 of 12 en route to 20 points and three steals for River Ridge. Dittmar is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Joe Winter was another key player, going 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points and five boards.

Pearl City's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for River Ridge, their record is now 9-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pearl City has already played their next contest (against Annawan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. River Ridge is taking a road trip to face off against Dakota at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dakota knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully River Ridge likes a good challenge.
