Basketball Game Preview: Uintah Utes vs. Spanish Fork Dons

The Uintah Utes will take on the Spanish Fork Dons in a tournament on Monday. Uintah has given up an average of 55.5 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Uintah is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since January 28th last Friday. They were dealt an 82-42 defeat at the hands of Wasatch. While losing is never fun, the Utes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Wasps are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Spanish Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against Riverton, falling 72-32. The matchup marked the Dons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Uintah now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Things could have been worse for Uintah, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-51 loss to Spanish Fork in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Thankfully for the Utes, Tanner Olsen (who went 6-for-8 to rack up 16 points along with eight assists and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
