Soccer Game Preview: McCluer vs. Pattonville

The McCluer Comets will head out on the road to challenge the Pattonville Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. McCluer's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

McCluer fell victim to Hazelwood Central and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Hawks.

Meanwhile, Pattonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Hazelwood West.

Pattonville now has a losing record of 8-9. As for McCluer, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-1.

McCluer might still be hurting after the 9-1 defeat they got from Pattonville when the teams last played back in April of 2015. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
