Basketball Game Preview: Norland Vikings vs. TERRA Environmental

Two dominant guards in Lorenzo Major and Nick Merlo are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Norland Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against TERRA Environmental at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Norland will head into Friday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 39) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Jordan Christian Prep out 57-54. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Seahawks are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, TERRA Environmental rose to the challenge on Monday. They secured a 77-73 W over the Pioneers.

Norland better keep an eye on Mateo Baron. He was instrumental in TERRA Environmental's win, going 9 of 16 en route to 28 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Merlo, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

TERRA Environmental's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Norland, they are also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
