For the first time this season, Wren will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the Emerald Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Emerald took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wren, who comes in off a win.
Wren took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They really took it to Woodruff for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-7 victory. Considering the Hurricanes have won three contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wren's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Owings, who threw for 216 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. 111 of those passing yards were hauled in by Carson Bryant.
Wren was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 235 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodruff only rushed for 141.
Wren's defense stepped up as well, laying out Connor Davis four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Wren got some further help from Jt Forrester: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Emerald was a bit more limited in their game last Friday. They came up short against Strom Thurmond, falling 35-13. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Wren will have to contain Christopher Dean as he made an impact in Emerald's last game. He rushed for 160 yards and one score while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Dean is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season.
Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Wren, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Wren has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 267.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Emerald struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 177.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wren strolled past Emerald in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 42-25. Do the Hurricanes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
