Basketball Recap: Sam Rayburn Triumphs

Sam Rayburn posted their closest win since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over the Whitewright Tigers. This was payback for the Rebels, who suffered a 38-31 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sam Rayburn is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Whitewright, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Sam Rayburn will square off against rival Tom Bean at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Whitewright is set to face off against their familiar foe Wolfe City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
