Basketball Recap: Triangle Lake's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Triangle Lake was the 46-37 winner over Mapleton when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Triangle Lake Lakers fell to the Mapleton Sailors 34-29.

Mapleton found their leader in sophomore Lucie Burruss, who posted 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burruss has scored at least a third of Mapleton's points. Another player making a difference was Abbi Mendez Galvan, who earned nine points and five boards.

Triangle Lake's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for Mapleton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Triangle Lake has already played their next match (against McKenzie), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mapleton will face off against Crow/City First Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
