Basketball Recap: St. Elizabeth Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gavin Williams and Noah Chipman

After flying high against Macks Creek last Tuesday, St. Elizabeth came back down to earth. The St. Elizabeth Hornets took a 70-56 bruising from the Fatima Comets on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, St. Elizabeth had strong showings from Noah Chipman, who went 5 for 7 en route to 14 points, and Gavin Williams, who posted 11 points and three blocks. That's the most points Chipman has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Hodge, who put up nine points.

St. Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Fatima, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Elizabeth will face off against Prairie Home at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fatima, they will square off against California at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
