Softball Recap: Owyhee Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

Owyhee had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Meridian on Thursday. The Storm blew past the Warriors 21-6. Considering the Storm have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Grace Groulx, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Brooks, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Owyhee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Meridian only posted an OBP of .444.

Owyhee's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
