Baseball Recap: Battle Mountain Huskies vs. Coal Ridge Titans
Battle Mountain extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-8 in the process. They lost 8-1 to the Coal Ridge Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in April.
Battle Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Reed, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Coal Ridge, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.
On Coal Ridge's side, Maddox Olivas was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Olivas has posted since back in April of 2024.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battle Mountain will host Steamboat Springs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sailors have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Coal Ridge, they will be playing at home against Meeker at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
