Basketball Game Preview: Desert Pines Jaguars vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

The Desert Pines Jaguars will take on the Shadow Ridge Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Pines is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Desert Pines is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 71 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Centennial on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 80-16 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Ashanti Stewart was Desert Pines' leading scorer, having posted eight points. Stewart also led the team in rebounds with ten.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge faced Faith Lutheran in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Shadow Ridge walked away with a 60-50 win over Faith Lutheran. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs who have now won three contests in a row.

Shadow Ridge is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Desert Pines, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
