Soccer Game Preview: Minico vs. Jerome

Minico is 0-10 against Jerome since September of 2020 but things could change on Monday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Minico has given up an average of 3.3 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Minico fell victim to Wood River and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jerome, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They never let Mountain Home get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Wednesday.

Yaritza Negrete and Ailyn Valencia-Trelles scored both of Jerome's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Jerome pushed their record up to 6-4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Minico, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Minico might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Jerome in their previous matchup on September 10th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Spartans were down 3-0.
