Volleyball Recap: Murray County Takes a Loss

Murray County was the 2-0 winner over Dade County when they last played one another on August 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Murray County sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-12, 20-25, 15-12.

Katherine Stone paced Murray County's offense, picking up nine kills. Stone got some help from Josie Jones and her 11 assists. Stone also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Avery Southern, racking up two apiece.

Murray County now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Dade County, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Murray County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against LaFayette on the 28th. As for Dade County, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Ringgold on the 2nd.
