Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Flyers vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders

Franklin is 0-10 against Lawrence-Nelson since December of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Franklin Flyers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 7:30 p.m.

Franklin is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were beaten by Southwest 56-27.

Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson greeted the New Year with with a 56-39 win over Hampton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Lawrence-Nelson found their leader in sophomore Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The matchup was Frey's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Zikmund, who posted seven points.

Lawrence-Nelson was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lawrence-Nelson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Franklin came up short against Lawrence-Nelson when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 34-27. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
