Softball Recap: Westview Warriors vs. Fairfield Falcons
Westview fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Fairfield on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5. The Warriors have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Brynn Bontrager put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Bontrager was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Fairfield, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westview will face off against Eastside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairfield, they will square off against West Noble at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.19 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
