Baseball Recap: Wellington Eagles vs. Northridge Grizzlies

The third road match was the charm for Wellington, as they earned their first away win of the season. They blew past the Northridge Grizzlies 14-4 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 last Monday.

Nate Blehm made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

In other batting news, Tanner Gray was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Tanner McLean also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Wellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted an OBP of .391.
