Baseball Recap: St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wins Going Away Against Archbishop Riordan

While St. Ignatius College Preparatory put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Archbishop Riordan. The Wildcats blew past the Crusaders 11-0. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Luke Miller and Chase Gordon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Miller pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Gordon didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Miller went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, while Gordon scored a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Archer Horn was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Rosenthal, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

St. Ignatius College Preparatory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop Riordan only posted an OBP of .160.
