Volleyball Game Preview: Newport Harbor Sailors vs. Redondo Union Sea Hawks

The Newport Harbor Sailors will take on the Redondo Union Sea Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Newport Harbor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Beckman, who was ranked eighth at the time (Newport Harbor was ranked 13th). The Sailors were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Patriots on Wednesday. The Sailors not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th.

Newport Harbor was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Redondo Union came tearing into Tuesday's match with 12 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Spartans 3-0.

While Redondo Union won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-22.

Redondo Union pushed their record up to 24-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Newport Harbor, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9.

Newport Harbor beat Redondo Union 3-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Sailors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Sea Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
