Baseball Recap: Cox Mill Takes a Loss

Cox Mill lost against Hopewell back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Cox Mill came up short against Hopewell, falling 14-4. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Trendyn Motley and Tyler Hicks stepped up to the plate in a big way. Motley got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, while Hicks scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Tyler Cartee, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cox Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hopewell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Coming up, Cox Mill will venture away from home to face off against Mooresville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cox Mill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hopewell, they will be playing at home against West Charlotte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopewell is facing West Charlotte at the right time seeing as West Charlotte is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
