Volleyball Recap: Vail Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against STEM School Highlands Ranch on Friday, Vail Christian came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the Denver Waldorf Spartans on Saturday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Saturday.

While Vail Christian was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-23.

Among those leading the charge was Avery Monden, who had 12 digs and four aces. Monden is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season.

Vail Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Denver Waldorf, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Vail Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denver Waldorf, they will venture away from home to square off against Thomas Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
