Recap: Capital City Cavaliers vs. Camdenton Lakers
With a playoff game on the line, the Capital City Cavaliers rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-35 win over Camdenton. The victory was familiar territory for Capital City who now have five in a row.
Jaylen Thomas went supernova for Capital City, rushing for 184 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Phillip Richardson, who gained 135 total yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Camdenton still got an impressive performance from Kade Durnin, who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 333 yards and a touchdown.
Capital City's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Camdenton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Capital City will face off against Helias at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Helias is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Camdenton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
