Softball Recap: St. Johns Country Day Comes Up Short

St. Johns Country Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in February.

St. Johns Country Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabi Oceguera, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. Johns Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Johns Country Day will venture away from home to square off against Bishop Snyder at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, they will head out to take on Trinity Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 14.3 runs per game this season.
