Basketball Recap: The Habersham School Patriots vs. St. Andrew's Lions

It was a good run, but The Habersham School unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 42-32 to the St. Andrew's Lions. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-29 back in December of 2024.

Myla Shippy and Gaby Kenard certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Shippy posted nine points in addition to eight boards and seven blocks, while Kenard scored 11 points and seven rebounds. Shippy has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times she's played.

St. Andrew's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Scarlett Holmes out in front who put up nine points. Valerie Ward was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

The Habersham School's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9. As for St. Andrew's, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

The Habersham School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-38 victory against Heritage Christian Academy on the 3rd. St. Andrew's has also already played their next game, a 50-24 loss against Pinewood Christian on the 31st.
