Softball Preview: Prospect Knights vs. Buffalo Grove Bison

Prospect hasn't had much luck against Buffalo Grove recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Bison at 4:45 p.m. Prospect's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Buffalo Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Prospect needed a bit of extra time to put away Rolling Meadows. They beat the Mustangs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-2. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Grove never let their opponents score on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Wheeling. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bison.

Not much got past Sammie Kosnoff, who gave up just five hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Wheeling off the board.

On the hitting side, Erin Ryan was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayley Cohen, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Buffalo Grove pushed their record up to 4-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Prospect, their record is now 13-2.
