Baseball Game Preview: Douglas Tigers vs. Reno Huskies

Douglas hasn't had much luck against Reno recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Douglas duked it out with Spanish Springs on Wednesday. The Tigers fell 9-4 to the Cougars. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Douglas saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaine Bilderback, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jared Peters was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Reno faced Galena in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Huskies have suffered since April 3rd.

Reno's defeat dropped their record down to 21-11. As for Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

Douglas couldn't quite finish off Reno in their previous meeting back in April and fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
