Volleyball Recap: Sahuaro Cougars vs. Walden Grove Red Wolves
Sahuaro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Walden Grove Red Wolves. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Sahuaro started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 28-26, 25-18, 27-25.
Natalyn Howell paced Sahuaro's offense, picking up ten kills. Howell got some help from
Haylee Au and her 17 assists.
Carly Coolidge controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Sahuaro's loss dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Walden Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.
Sahuaro will face off against Sabino at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sahuaro is facing Sabino at the right time seeing as Sabino is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Walden Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Ironwood Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
