Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with DC International

Eastern faced DC International in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Ramblers fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 6-4. The Ramblers haven't had much luck with the Dragons recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Aaron Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rasheed Hardy, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for DC International, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern will take on School Without Walls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Penguins' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Ramblers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for DC International, they will face off against Eleanor Roosevelt at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
