Soccer Game Preview: West Fork vs. Kingwood Park

West Fork hasn't had much luck against Kingwood Park recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Gators will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with West Fork sitting on three straight wins and Kingwood Park on eight.

Kingwood Park better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if West Fork's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when West Fork really gets things going. The Gators' defense stepped up to hand Splendora a 3-0 shutout. That's two games straight that West Fork have won by exactly three goals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Kingwood Park duked it out with Crosby on Tuesday. The Panthers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Cougars. Give Kingwood Park's defense some credit: that's the team's eighth straight shutout.

Kingwood Park's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for West Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11-1.

West Fork suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Kingwood Park in their previous matchup on February 4th. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
