Platte Valley will challenge the Ralston Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ralston will be up against a hot Platte Valley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to eight. Platte Valley blew past Nebraska City 13-3 on Tuesday. While Platte Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Cael Smith was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Kale Hoffer was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
Platte Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Ralston came out on top against Plattsmouth on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Daniel Blaufuss tossed a big game, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
At the plate, Ralston got a massive performance out of Brayden Vandervort, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. What's more, Vandervort posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brody Jenkins, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Ralston's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Platte Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 11-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Platte Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .483. However, it's not like Ralston struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
