Basketball Game Preview: St. Monica Mariners vs. Animo Venice Pirates

The St. Monica Mariners will take on the Animo Venice Pirates in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Monica is headed into Wednesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Leuzinger.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice entered their matchup against Vistamar on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Animo Venice took a 66-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vistamar.

Animo Venice's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-8. As for St. Monica, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
