After losing to Independence the last time they met, Evergreen Valley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Evergreen Valley Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Independence 76ers on Friday. Hector Pulido had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Cougars.
The victory made it two in a row for Evergreen Valley and bumps their season record up to 3-12. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Independence, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5.
