On Tuesday Maddox Hampton struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk), which was good enough to also set a new career-low in walks. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with more than five strikeouts. On the year, he has an ERA of 1.22 over 28.7 innings pitched.

Even though Hampton couldn't lead Nettleton over Marion, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
