Basketball Game Preview: Beresford Watchdogs vs. Garretson Blue Dragons

The Beresford Watchdogs will take on the Garretson Blue Dragons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Beresford beat Alcester-Hudson 78-71. The Watchdogs haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Garretson hadn't done well against McCook Central/Montrose recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Garretson escaped with a win against McCook Central/Montrose by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54.

Beresford's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Garretson, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Everything went Beresford's way against Garretson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Beresford made off with a 60-39 victory. Will Beresford repeat their success, or does Garretson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
