Baseball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Mesa Verde Mavericks, falling 11-4.

Kennedy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Namikawa, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave Namikawa a new career-high in hits. Another was Diego Avalos-Daniels, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Mesa Verde, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Kennedy will challenge Natomas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Mesa Verde, they will face off against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mesa Verde is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
