Baseball Game Preview: Mainland Buccaneers vs. Pine Ridge Panthers

Mainland is 1-9 against Pine Ridge since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Buccaneers will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m.

Mainland is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Orlando Christian Prep on Thursday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1.

Mainland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Pittman, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pine Ridge not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th (when they won 12-2). They put the hurt on Taylor with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won six in a row.

Nathan Murrah was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kasen Perdomo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Pine Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Pine Ridge's record now sits at 7-10. As for Mainland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Mainland came up short against Pine Ridge in their previous matchup back in February, falling 7-3. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
