Basketball Recap: Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Our Lady of Mount Carmel lost against DeMatha back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars fell 62-58 to the Stags. The loss was the Cougars' first of the season.

Ashton (Ace) Meeks was a one-man wrecking crew For DeMatha. as he shot 40% from the field on his way to 24 points and seven boards. Meeks is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jaden Shoultz, who posted eight points and seven assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Our Lady of Mount Carmel fell to 4-1.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-54 victory against St. Andrew's Episcopal on the 30th. As for DeMatha, they will challenge Fayetteville Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Stags surely won't give up without a fight.
