Softball Recap: Stevens Comes Up Short

Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They came up short against the Brennan Bears, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Stevens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Garcia`, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Stevens' loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Brennan, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Stevens is set to challenge their familiar foe O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Brennan will square off against rival Taft at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.6, the Raiders 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
