Volleyball Preview: Bayfield Wolverines vs. Montezuma-Cortez Panthers
The Bayfield Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bayfield has four straight wins, Montezuma-Cortez has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Last Thursday, everything went Bayfield's way against Piedra Vista as Bayfield made off with a 3-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Montezuma-Cortez didn't have quite enough to beat Pagosa Springs on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-21 in the first period.
Montezuma-Cortez took Pagosa Springs into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-8, 15-12.
Bayfield now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Montezuma-Cortez, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Bayfield came up short against Montezuma-Cortez when the teams last played back in September, falling 3-1. Can Bayfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
