Baseball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Whitney Wildcats

For the second straight game, Davis Sr. will face off against Whitney. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Davis Sr. 3.6, Whitney 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Davis Sr.'s usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Whitney hitters got past them. The Blue Devils came up short against the Wildcats on Monday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blue Devils have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Davis Sr. got a good showing from Charlie Sheridan, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Davis Sr. saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Castles, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Whitney, bringing their record up to 14-11. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Davis Sr., this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8-1.
