Recap: Musselman Applemen vs. Jefferson Cougars
On Tuesday, the Musselman Applemen faced the Jefferson Cougars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Musselman fell 56-45 to Jefferson. Musselman has not had much luck with Jefferson recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Musselman's loss came despite strong showings from Anden Santamaria and Gavin Mcclain. Santamaria scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Mcclain scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Woolaston, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Musselman's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Musselman will take on Spring Mills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring Mills is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Jefferson, they will play host again and welcome Washington, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
