Basketball Recap: Warrior Run Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hughesville last Friday, Warrior Run came back down to earth. The Warrior Run Defenders took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southern Columbia Area Tigers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Defenders came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Tigers are ranked 268th).

Warrior Run's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 15-3. As for Southern Columbia Area, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warrior Run will face off against Central Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Columbia Area, they will challenge Mount Carmel at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
