Basketball Recap: Boron Takes a Loss

Boron played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 103-36 loss at the hands of the California City Ravens. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-21.

Isreal Flores and Josue Magallanes certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Flores posted 16 points, while Magallanes almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

California City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown out in front who went 14 of 25 on his way to 32 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The game was Brown's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlito 'Smooth' Brown, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards.

Boron now has a losing record at 4-5. As for California City, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Boron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-26 defeat against Desert on the 17th. As for California City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-46 victory against Rosamond on the 17th.
