Football Recap: South Summit Falls to Duchesne in First Game of Season

South Summit had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 29-20 to the Duchesne Eagles.

South Summit's loss came despite strong showings from Blake Osguthorpe and Ian Mair. Osguthorpe picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Mair threw for 216 yards and three TDs.

South Summit didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Theus Reed and Brody Larsen. Ammon Marchant was another major factor on D, making 17 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Kasen Crum had a dynamite game For Duchesne., rushing for 200 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

South Summit didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 42-13 win against North Summit on the 22nd. As for Duchesne, they have also already played their next game, a 25-21 defeat against Layton Christian Academy on the 22nd.
