Brunswick has gone a perfect 3-0 against Lakeside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Brunswick is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Statesboro just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Heze Kent, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Moore, who threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.

Meanwhile, Lakeside's game on Thursday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 21-14 to Greenbrier. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly seven points.

Although Lakeside took the loss, they still got scores from Joey Curkovic and Tristan Jones.

Brunswick's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Brunswick against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-34 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Panthers' Ty Jones, who rushed for 203 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, and also threw for 247 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
