Basketball Recap: Giles Takes a Loss

Giles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a hard 69-55 fall against the Fort Chiswell Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 179th).

Giles' defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Fort Chiswell, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Giles will host Grayson County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Chiswell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against George Wythe at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
