Baseball Preview: Middletown Mustangs vs. Cloverdale Eagles

The Middletown Mustangs will take on the Cloverdale Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Middletown not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 21-2). They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Lower Lake. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Cody De Jong made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Middletown is 3-1 when De Jong posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise.
